What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a state-of-the-art orthodontic system that uses a series of custom-created clear aligner trays to gently and precisely shift your teeth into their ideal positions.
This innovative treatment addresses various dental concerns, from minor misalignments to more complex cases. At St Ives Smiles, we’re proud to offer Invisalign as a modern solution for achieving a beautiful smile.

Why Choose Invisalign at St Ives Smiles?

Your Invisalign Journey at St Ives Smiles

Discover the seamless process of achieving a beautiful smile with Invisalign at St Ives Smiles. In just five straightforward steps, you’ll be on your way to a confident, straighter smile.
It all begins with your initial appointment at St Ives Smiles. During this visit, Dr Jeremy or Dr Bently will conduct a comprehensive assessment of your oral health and discuss your cosmetic dentistry goals. If Invisalign aligners are the right choice for you, we’ll guide you through the treatment process and provide an estimated timeline.
Next, we’ll capture precise digital impressions of your teeth. This may occur during your first appointment or at a separate visit, depending on your schedule. Our advanced technology, including digital scans, photographs, and x-rays, creates an accurate model of your mouth, which is then sent to the Invisalign laboratory.
When your custom Invisalign aligner trays are ready, we’ll schedule your fitting appointment. In some cases, small, clear attachments may be placed on your teeth to enhance the alignment process. These attachments are virtually invisible, painless to install, and temporary. After ensuring that your aligners fit comfortably and explaining your aftercare plan, you’re ready to embark on your Invisalign journey.
Several weeks after receiving your first aligner tray, you’ll return to St Ives Smiles for a check-up. During these appointments, we’ll assess your progress and verify the fit of your aligners. Invisalign treatment consists of a series of trays, eliminating the need for frequent dental visits. Instead, you’ll return periodically to monitor your smile’s transformation. If necessary, we may conduct a new digital scan to order additional aligners to keep your treatment on track.
Over time, with consistent wear and proper care, your teeth will gradually align, giving you the straighter smile you’ve always wanted. The final results depend on the initial alignment issues, but when you follow your prescribed treatment plan, you’re guaranteed to enjoy a more confident smile.

Am I a Candidate for Invisalign?

Invisalign can address a wide range of concerns, including crooked teeth, overbites, underbites, crossbites, gaps between teeth, and more. Our evaluation is thorough and individualised, ensuring that you receive the most suitable treatment plan for your unique smile. We treat adults, teenagers, and some children with Invisalign, but adherence to wearing the aligners for at least 22 hours a day is essential for success.
